Join us on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00pm (hybrid) for an evening introducing the shortlisted artists for the Black Sox Memorial Sculpture Project.

This project will create a public memorial honoring the legacy of the Baltimore Black Sox historic Negro Leagues baseball team. The sculpture will be located in the future Westport & Smith Cove Waterfront Park as part of the broader Reimagine Middle Branch initiative.

Parks & People, in partnership with the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP), is thrilled to lead the creation of the Baltimore Black Sox Memorial in Westport. The Baltimore Black Sox baseball team was founded in 1913 and began playing in Westport in 1917 as part of the Negro Leagues.
