The Black Sox Sculpture Project (BSSP)

On behalf of Parks & People and South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP), Maryland Art Place (MAP) is offering an exciting opportunity to Baltimore regional artists (MD, DC, PA, DE, VA) working in large-scale sculpture to create artworks of historical Baltimore Black Sox baseball players.

BSSP plays tribute to the legacy of the Baltimore Black Sox baseball team, memorialized through large scale sculpture(s) & collective memory. BSSP is seeking 3 sculptures for the Baltimore Black Sox Memorial. All or one may be produced by the same artist.

We've been connecting with remarkable individuals, families, community members, and organizations with all types of connections to the Middle Branch area and we're eager to hear more of these amazing stories.

Story-telling holds immense power to understand the past, to shape the future of Middle Branch, to create positive change, and to transform our collective vision into reality. Whether you live or work in one of the neighborhoods included in our Plan, we want to hear your voice, your experiences, and your dreams for the Middle Branch.

Please note that to make sure we are featuring a representation of folks and organizations from the throughout the entire project area, we may not be able to interview everyone that expresses interest.
