“The water has always had a relaxing and calming effect on me since I was introduced to the water at a young age. I began rowing through the learn-to-row camp at BCR before high school. Before that, I had never had any interest in rowing.

My proudest moments on the water come when everyone works together and embodies good sportsmanship, like when my teammates help other boaters or congratulate our opponents. I love everyone’s willingness to help each other out in this community. People really take the opportunity to lift each other up. With that said, rowing should be more available for anyone who wants to do it. Scholarships and buses have helped get more people here, and while that is a good start, I would love to share these experiences with more people.

At the Middle Branch, I would like to see different programs to bring people together through activities such as kayaking, etc. The Middle Branch has a lot of potential for collaboration.”
